Damon S. Green II

Growing up in a family of educators I have always held a strong passion for learning. This desire for knowledge has pushed me to discover new hobbies, experiences and skills, and ultimately to share what information I have with others.

Since graduating from Florida State University with a double major in Classical Civilizations and Criminology in 2021, I myself have spent time in education, teaching Classical Latin as well as educating people on various animals through my time working with both zoos and wildlife conservation organizations.

Currently I am completing a degree in Computer Science focusing on video game development, and am graduating at the end of this November. I am looking for professional roles in which I might further develop my programming and engineering skills in a team environment.

My goal is to join the games industry and learn from as many veterans and skilled developers as possible. My experience as a Classical Latin Teacher demonstrates my ability to break down complex topics in a clear,  and detailed way, and have the ability to communicate those concepts in a digestible manner. I  am ready to contribute in a dynamic team environment where I can learn and grow as a programmer and developer.

This is a picture of me and my best friend growing up, Dimitri. A couple years ago Dimitri posted a simple photo with an acronym that stuck with me: R.W.Y.C.A - "Remember What You Care About". It reminded me of a conversation that we had as kids; talking about video games, what our dream video game might be, and all the amazing things we would put into it, drawing upon all of our favorites for inspiration.

When he posted this, I was working a job that I had come to loathe, and would go home spending all of my free time playing games. That simple phrase "Remember what you care about" helped me to make a massive change. I quit that job and returned to school to pursue a degree in video games, to chase my childhood dream.
